Kamal Wickramanayake is an Enterprise  Architect and a Software Architect.  He carries more than 9 years of experience in information technology during which he has been providing consultancy and training on diverse technologies to local and foreign enterprises and individuals.

Kamal is TOGAFTM 8 certified by The Open Group. TOGAF is about defining an Enterprise Architecture, the major constituent of an IT Governance process. In simple terms, it is about systematic definition of an organization specific IT strategy that drives and thrusts a business into success with sustainable competitive business advantage. He scored 92% in the exam.

Kamal is a member of Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects and also Information Systems Audit And Control Association (ISACA).

Of the ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter, he was the Marketing Director during the 2008-2009 period for which the Chapter received the K Wayne Snipes Award for the Best Medium Sized Chapter in Asia. Kamal was a significant contributor for many of the chapter activites happened during the period.

Kamal has singificant insights into the area of enterprise application development. He has been breathing Java Enterprise Edition and open source technologies for many years. He is a lover of the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) work on the advancement of the software engineering discipline.

Until July 2006, Kamal had been working in Virtusa (Pvt) Ltd. He had worked both in the R&D Department and the Training & Development Department. With other involvements, as a Trainer, he had contributed to a large number of in-house trainings in diverse areas of software engineering (Languages, Frameworks, Products, Tools, Techniques, Design and Analysis, Patterns, Project Estimation, Proposal Writing,...). He was based in Colombo Advanced Technology Center, but had conducted trainings in Hyderabad and Chennai ATCs as well. His work in Virtusa had been recognized couple of times (first, second, third, fourth).

Having received his B.Sc. Eng. (First Class Honours) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he had also worked as a Lecturer for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and as a Visiting Lecturer for the Department of Engineering Mathematics & Philosophy of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Technology, The Open University of Sri Lanka.

Kamal is a Competent Toastmaster recognized by Toastmasters International. He has been doing good in public speaking.

99% of the time, Kamal works with one or more penguins. He has specially been close to Red Hat penguins since version 5 (i.e. somewhere from year 1997).
